Eastern Alumni Spotlight: Bryan Rose

The former Upper Moreland High School grad earned the Welding Occupational Advisory Committee Award at EASTERN's 2012 Awards Night.

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) 2012 Welding Technology/Upper Moreland High School graduate, Bryan Rose, is currently employed as a TIG welder at Anderson Sheet Metal in Norristown. Rose got his start at EASTERN as a junior, and turned his education into a successful career just months after high school graduation.

Rose’s interest in welding began in Middle School when he would help his uncle weld scrap steel. When Rose was entering high school, his cousin who attended EASTERN told him about the Welding Technology program and suggested that he visit the school. Rose was one of the top performers in the Welding Technology program earning the Welding Occupational Advisory Committee Award at EASTERN’s 2012 Awards Night.

Rose recently moved to the Norristown area and started looking for local welding employment. He stopped in Anderson Sheet Metal in Norristown and asked for an employment application. Three hours after submitting his application he was called in for an interview for the following day. After an extensive interview and a tour of the shop, he was offered the job on the spot.
