Eastern Alumni Spotlight: Taylor Landon

Being able to pursue her passion in cooking, led Taylor to a recipe for success.

Eastern Center for Arts and Technology (EASTERN) 2010 Culinary Arts/Cheltenham High School graduate, Taylor Landon, is currently completing her Associate Degree in Hospitality Management at Montgomery County Community College (MCCC).

After graduation from MCCC in May, she plans to pursue her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Hospitality Management at Temple University.

Landon enjoyed her cooking classes in middle school, so her mother enrolled her in EASTERN’s Summer Fun Cooking and Baking program.Throughout high school, she participated in all of the cooking classes that Cheltenham offered, and then decided to enroll in EASTERN’s Culinary Arts programs as a junior.

“Coming to the Culinary Arts program at EASTERN gives you a real-life experience of how a professional kitchen works. The instructors prepare you to move on to college or to go directly into the work force,” said Landon. “The instructors also ensure all of the students are aware of the colleges and
universities that provide college credit for classes taken at EASTERN.”

EASTERN has agreements with many colleges and universities that consider work completed at EASTERN equivalent to college-level work. Students in EASTERN’s Culinary Arts program can receive up to nine credits at Montgomery County Community College; up to 14 credits at Bucks County Community College; and up to nine quarter credits at Johnson & Wales University.
