Local Experts to Educate Seniors and Their Adult Children in How to Sort Out Legal and Care Giving Issues For Loved Ones

Caring for an elderly parent or loved one and feel like you are in uncharted territory? Elder Law Attorney Richard L. Newman and Geriatric Care Manager Carole Mancini will conduct a presentation on Elder Law and Elder Care Issues as part of the Upper Dublin Public Library’s Boomer + program on Thursday, September 6, 2012, from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the Upper Dublin Public Library, 805 Loch Alsh Avenue in Fort Washington. The program is free and advance registration is not required.

Navigating the sea of legal and caregiving information for an older loved one can be a daunting task. Richard L. Newman and Carole Mancini will address a variety of important issues for older adults and the loved ones who care for them. Their presentation will cover:

About the speakers:

Richard Newman has been a practicing attorney for over 25 years. He graduated from Temple University School of Law and was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Temple University. He is currently a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Pennsylvania Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Academy of Special Needs Planners, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Bucks County Bar Association, and the Rotary Club of Doylestown.

Carole Mancini has been involved in one aspect or another of elder care for many years.  She was a home health aide with the Union County (NJ) Association of Home Health Aides, organized an eldercare support group when she was working at Merck & Co., Inc. Mancini has been a Geriatric Care Manager with the New Jersey Office of the Public Guardian from 2005 to 2009. She has been working at Newman Elder Law, since 2009.  She received her Master degree in Medical Humanities from Drew University in 2004.  She is a member of the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers and Bucks County Network Connections.
