UMHS Student Earns $1,000 Scholarship from American Heritage Federal Credit Union

The scholarship was given by the American Heritage Federal Credit Union in recognition, of Upper Moreland High School student Malisha Liyanage.

American Heritage Federal Credit Union is proud to ease the financial burden of college expenses by offering twenty-five $1,000 college scholarships to young credit union members. American Heritage Federal Credit Union’s Scholarship Committee selected the 2012 scholarship recipients based on their scholarly merits, community and school involvement, a letter of recommendation, and a submitted essay on how American Heritage can help achieve their American Dream.

A scholarship banquet held at Brookside Manor on May 9 honored: Daniel Adler from Pennsbury High School, Benjamin Bonner from Timber Creek Regional High School, Katie Bressler from Central Bucks High School South, Matthew Carullo from Methacton High School, Gianna Grossman from Central High School, Sarah Haenn from Mount Saint Joseph Academy, Megan Hittle from North Penn High School, Kelly Holloran from Franklin Learning Center, Alyssa Iaquinto from Central Bucks High School East, Gregory Kappes from Lower Moreland High School, Malisha Liyanage from Upper Moreland High School, Maggie McClay from Philadelphia Academy Charter School, Bryan Melilli from Bucks County Technical High School, James Midkiff from Cherry Hill High School East, Timothy Miller from Central Bucks High School West, Molly Molnar from Washington Township High School, Bridget Moore from St. Basil Academy, Alyssa Mullen from Little Flower High School, Brooke Prestia from North Penn High School, Zach Richard from Souderton Area High School, Natalie Sanchez from Philadelphia Science Leadership, Matthew Simpson from Souderton Area High School, Natalie Waligorski from Haddon Township High School, John Whelan from Conestoga Senior High School and Pharaoh Williams from Academy at Palumbo.

Each winning scholar was presented with a $1,000 undergraduate college scholarship.
