UMPS to Start the New Year Off Running

The community will be starting off the year with some very special projects and events. Here's a few great examples from the district's online communication resource, the "Virtual Backpack":

• PROJECT FOR ALL STUDENTS AT THE PRIMARY SCHOOL:

The Upper Moreland Primary School will celebrate “Diversity Day” on Jan. 12, 2012.  This special day is being held to give our children an opportunity to learn and appreciate the uniqueness and differences of others.  On Diversity Day, each child will be able to share with their classmates and grade-mates what makes them so special.  In order to do this, we are asking each child to create a “Me Kit.”  Further information and “Me Kit” directions can be found by clicking on the following link: http://www.umtsd.org/19132081282137557/blank/browse.asp?A=383&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=58033

• B-Strong ... Be Brave ... Beat Cancer ... School wide Service Project – January 3 - 13, 2012

• Annual College Awareness Day - Friday, January 6th

Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to wear college gear to school on this day.  During this year, the students will be learning about perseverance and how this important virtue helps us to reach our goals.  It is never too early to think about the possibility of going to college.
