Upper Moreland Back to School Update

Catch up on the latest news from the Upper Moreland Middle School.

Back to School Information:
School opens for students: Tue. Sept. 4
All 6th Graders will report to school at the regular time of 8:05 a.m.
All 7th and 8th Graders will report to school at 10:05 a.m. following the 2 hours late arrival schedule. Letters will be mailed by August 24 containing student schedules and more information.

6th Grade Orientation
There will be a 6th Grade orientation program for parents and students on Wednesday, August 29th at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium.  This will allow parents and students to familiarize themselves with the middle school before the beginning of the school year.

Mr. John Halligan will conduct a presentation for parent on bullying, cyber bullying and youth depression on Wednesday September 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Visit the virtual backpack on the district web site for more information.

*Information regarding School Athletics for the 2012-2013 school year*
Fall sports participants will need to submit a completed physical form, Parent/Athlete Concussion Information Signature Page, and the PA Department of Health Sudden Cardiac Arrest Symptom Information Signature Page, before engaging in team tryouts or practices.

Fall sports participants AND marching unit participants will need to submit Activity Fee paperwork and payment before engaging in team tryouts or practices.

Students and families for whom the activity fee will represent a financial hardship will be able to request a reduction or waiver of the activity fee.  This process will require a meeting with the Middle School principal, before engaging in team tryouts or practices.
