W.G.V.F.C.'s Engine 10 Participates in Oreland's Fourth of July Parade

W.G.V.F.C. enters Oreland Fourth of July Parade.

Over the Fourth of July weekend, some of the volunteer members took Engine 10 to the Oreland parade and fire truck competition. The members spent several days and nights the week prior to the parade getting the truck ready, including a company drill night. These volunteers worked diligently to clean every piece of equipment on the truck, as well as inside of every compartment, and inside the cab as well. Up until the morning before the parade, the members continued to clean and polish the truck to make sure it looked the best it could.
Following the parade, all the apparatus returned to Oreland's fire house for the judging of the competition. The judges went through every truck to make their decisions as to who had the best appearing trucks. Although Engine 10 did not take home a trophy in its category, the members enjoyed spending the time working together, preparing the truck for the parade and look forward to participating in similar events like this in the future.
