Family members invited!

Ruth is a psychotherapist, and will discuss her Keys to Recovery to help keep you stable. Again family members as well as patients encouraged to attend.

Participants will learn the importance of partnering w/ a knowledgeable and compassionate psychiatrist and therapist, and making lifestyle changes so as not to exacerbate your illness.

Since suicide is the most extreme symptom of both bipolar and depression, we'll discuss a Stop-Suicide Plan.

Ruth will also talk about medications, why people self-medicate w/ drugs and alcohol, and the latest thinking about the illness, such as the controversial notion of not staying on meds between episodes.

Ruth's talk is based upon conversations with hundreds of individuals who have passed through the doors of the support group since 1986.
