Road Work, Hookah Cafe Consideration This Week

See what's happening this week in Upper Moreland.

Aqua will begin replacing the water main on County Line between Blair Mill Road and Madison Avenue in Upper Moreland Township and Hatboro on Monday. 

The new main will increase service reliability and improve firefighting capabilities in the area. The main installation, service transfers, street tie-ins, and final paving restoration is expected to continue through December during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some Saturdays may be necessary to keep the project on schedule.  

Access will be provided for emergency, mail and trash service and residents will have access to their properties.

The Upper Moreland Commissioners will meet for its finance and administration committee meetings on Monday beginning at 7 p.m. at the township municipal building, 117 Park Ave., in Willow Grove. Click here to see what matters will be discussed. 

The Upper Moreland School Board will hold a new employees reception on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the cafetorium of Upper Moreland Intermediate School, 3990 Orangemans Road. The school board's regular meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m. Click here to see the agenda once it's been posted.

The Upper Moreland Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal building, 117 Park Ave., in Willow Grove, to hear a petition from the owner of 800 S. York Road, who is seeking to use existing parking spaces in lieu of providing additional spaces for a proposed Hookah Cafe’ with indoor seating. 

Crossway Community Church, 3805 Mill Road in Willow Grove, is holding an American Red Cross blood drive on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

The Upper Moreland Historical Association will offer a talk on Keystone tombstones about the numerous cemeteries that speakers Joseph Farrell and Joseph Farley have visited. They will also talk about the lives of the famous Pennsylvanians and their connection with the state. The meeting is free and open to the public and will be held in the community room of the municipal building, 117 Park Ave., in Willow Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
