As with many towns in Pennsylvania, fire, rescue and emergency medical services are primarily provided by highly professional and sincerely dedicated volunteers. These volunteers may be your neighbors, people you pass in the street or people you stand next to in line at the grocery store -- people who are dedicated to helping their neighbors in their time of need.
As you can imagine, having volunteers respond to the many emergency calls every year provides a tremendous savings of tax dollars as opposed to having 24 hour coverage by paid personnel. Unfortunately, many towns in Pennsylvania are suffering from a lack of volunteers. In our case, there is no exception. The Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company is in need of volunteers.
