Alleged Heroin Dealer Has Court Hearing Postponed

Terrance Malik Anderson is facing charges for allegedly attempting to sell heroin during a foiled drug deal in Hatboro.

An alleged Philadelphia heroin dealer whose criminal rap sheet dates back to 1999 had his day in Hatboro District Court postponed. After sheriff's officers transported Terrance Malik Anderson, 29, formerly of the 2700 block of W. Master Street in Philadelphia, from the Montgomery County Correctional Facility more than an hour after his scheduled preliminary hearing on Thursday, Hatboro District Judge Paul Leo agreed to Hatboro Police's request for a continuance.  Authorities allege that Anderson had 120 bags of heroin, seven bags of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana in his possession during a foiled hand-to-hand drug exchange in the Aaron's parking lot at South York Road and Lehman Avenue in Hatboro last month.  According to court …

Philly Man Sentenced for Role in 2-Year Burglary Spree

Homes in Upper Moreland, Abington, Upper Dublin and other municipalities were burglarized between November 2008 and October 2010.

  A Philadelphia man was sentenced to five to 10 years’ state prison time for his role in committing several burglaries between 2008 and 2010. According to a story on Phillyburbs.com, John D. Wilson, 49, was sentenced earlier this week. Wilson has been incarcerated since October 2010 and his co-defendant, William Perkins, 64, of Philadelphia, the getaway driver, is serving a 10- to 20-year state sentence after admitting to his role in the crimes.  Wilson gave police a statement admitting to burglarizing almost 40 homes in the area. According to Abington Police, Perkins and Wilson used a white Ford pickup truck with ladder racks during the burglaries, which was seen leaving the scene of a burglary in October 2010.  Abington Police attempted…

President Barack Obama shared the story of fallen Plymouth Township Police Officer Bradley Fox during a National Peace Officers Memorial Day service.

Fallen Plymouth Township Police Officer Bradley Fox was singled out by President Barack Obama during his speech at the National Peace Officers Memorial Day services at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. Montco Drug Ring's Leader Takes Stand as Witness for the Prosecution

A drug ring that included Montgomery County has recently been on trial in a major wire-tapping case.

He took the stand as a witness for the prosecution, but it was the defense that really got him to talk. An unnamed ringleader of a major drug ring that reached parts of Montgomery, Bucks, Chester and Philadelphia counties was the topic of discussion in Judge Gary S. Silow’s courtroom Friday, as more than 24 men and women face charges in the ring, which was caught via wire-tapping by local authorities, reports the Times Herald.  The witness admitted on the stand, when questioned by the defense, that he did not know at least one of the men named as part of a drug trafficking organization. Upper Moreland Swears in New Chiefs and Officer

More than 100 people came out to witness the swearing in of the township’s new police chief, Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Co. chief and police officer.

The regular meeting of the Upper Moreland Board of Commissioners Monday night saw the installation of the township’s newest first responders. “This is one of the things that makes being commissioner very important,” Board President Commissioner Sam Valenza said during the meeting. “It’s very important to us to have family and friends here tonight.” According to regular attendees of municipal board meetings, the audience of more than 100 people supporting the township’s latest representatives was the largest of its kind in recent memory. Montco Sheriff Seeks to Expand 'GREAT' Program

School, court, community program aims to prevent violence.

What can they say? It's a "GREAT" program. And, Montgomery County's Sheriff Eileen Whalon Behr hopes it can continue. "The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department seeks to expand the Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.) Program through the county’s public schools, court system and community events," said Behr in a recent release. "The violence prevention program aims to prevent bullying, youth crime, violence, drug use, and gang involvement." Behr says the program is designed to be preventative.  “The program is specifically designed to avoid future problems and provides positive interaction with our deputy sheriffs,” said Behr.
