A witness called LMPD on Nov. 11 after he saw several cars on fire in the parking lot of 7 Motors Inc., 3021 Franks Rd. in Huntingdon Valley. He was working at his shop nearby when he heard popping noises outside and saw an orange glow through his window. The Lower Moreland Police Department along with the Philadelphia and Huntingdon Valley fire companies responded to the scene. Several cars were fully enflamed when police arrived, and two employees inside the building said they had no idea there was a fire until police knocked on the door. Detectives from LM, Montgomery County, PA Police fire investigator and LM Fire Marshal were all on scene. The owner of 7 Motors Inc. arrived to see five of his cars on fire. A Huntingdon Valley man will face 16 years in a prison after burning down his business in Northeast Philadelphia to obtain money from the insurance claim. Michael Giamo, 31, organized a fire at his auto-repair shop, One Source Motors, in May 2010. He fled the country to Brazil beforehand and agreed to pay a friend $10,000 for setting up the fire. Giamo collected $127,000 from the arson and was sentenced to pay back over $200,000 in restitution. CHARGES ORIGINALLY FILED IN MARCH An investigation of the scene revealed a pile of burned promotional t-shirts on an office chair and the area around it. Several fires broke out early Saturday morning within minutes of each other.
Fire crews from Horsham, Hatboro and Bucks County worked to put out fires in Horsham and neighboring Upper Moreland around 1:45 a.m. Saturday. The handful of fires, which broke out in several locations on Blair Mill Road, are classified as "incendiary," according to Horsham Fire Marshal George Fida. He said on Monday that both Horsham and Upper Moreland officials, as well as the county fire marshal and the state police are investigating the fires. According to 6ABC, the first fire broke out at Blair Mill Apartments, in the 3800 block of Blair Mill Road in Upper Moreland. Montco DA announces the arrest of 10 members of the Norristown-based "Gangsta Killer Bloods."
On Wednesday morning, Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman announced the arrest of 10 alleged members of the "Gangsta Killer Bloods," including the alleged leader of the gang, 23-year-old Augustus Anthony Simmons, of Brooklyn, NY. The arrests cap off six months of work by a Montgomery County investigative grand jury, who traced the alleged criminal enterprise back to Simmons' arrival in Norristown in July of 2010. "When Simmons came in last summer, his goal was to organize criminals on the streets behind him," said Ferman. "He came down with the purpose of establishing and solidifying a Blood set in Montgomery County."
