Upper Moreland School District Art Show Returns to High School

Earlier this month the Upper Moreland School District held its annual district-wide art show, showcasing artwork from students in grades Kindergarten - 12.

Earlier this month, many members of the Upper Moreland community came to out to Upper Moreland high school for the annual art show. Students work populated the art show with sculptures and drawings or photos from the high school’s digital photography class. Artwork, representing students from kindergarten through 12th-grade, covered the high school lobby. The art show in previous years had always been held at the high school, but due to construction the event was moved to the middle school for five years and 2012 marked the return of the district-wide art show at the Upper Moreland High School (UMHS). Willow Grove United Methodist Church Presents Public Art Show

Upper Moreland Township’s oldest-running church has renewed its public art exhibition.

Write your verse, lift your voice, paint cerulean skies. Love calls from you, your deepest Self,    ‘Inside of you is an artist.     Inside of me is an artist     Inside of us is The Artist’ The Willow Grove United Methodist Church Choir performed these final verses of an anthem titled “The Artist Within,” during its church service, May 6. Written by Gayle Wieand, WGUMC director of music ministry, the anthem was sung during the church service, in order to recognize the spirit behind and reasons why the WGUMC has organized a community art show. “People should come, because it’s beauty,” Wieand said of the community art show. “When you see art and get up close and personal … I can celebrate life, and beauty and love.” The art show, which …
