Looking for something fun and local to do this weekend? Here is what's on tap.
Snow may be falling, but the winter "storm" is expected to subside by the end of the day Friday. If you are willing to brave the weather, here is what you can do around the neighborhood this weekend. After a win over Pope John Paul II in the District Basketball Playoffs, the Upper Moreland Golden Bears will take on Susquehanna Township in the first round of the state tournament at 8 p.m. Friday. The game will be played at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. - Barnes & Noble in Willow Grove will host Storytime with the Adorable Georganne starting at 7 p.m. - Local thespians will perform Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" at the Village Players of Hatboro starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12. Purchases at Barnes and Noble will help Upper Moreland School District to support summer reading and literacy.

According to an Upper Moreland School District release, the district is sponsoring a Barnes & Noble fundraiser for literacy. The purpose of this event is to support summer reading and literacy. The proceeds will be used to purchase literacy resources for all schools. The fundraising event will started June 11 and ends June 18 at the Willow Grove Barnes & Noble. Online purchases will also be included in the fundraising efforts from June 19-23. The Upper Moreland Township School District can receive up to 25 percent of the profits from items sold in the store. For every eligible item that is purchased online at Barnes & Noble on behalf of the school district, Barnes & Noble will contribute 12 percent of the purchase price to the schools. …

Local sports figures, including Ray Didinger of Comcast/WIP and Sal Paolantonio of ESPN, were on hand at the Barnes & Noble in Willow Grove to sign their books.
On Dec. 22, local sports figures were on hand to sign their books at the Barnes & Nobles in Willow Grove. Some of the most recognizable names in local sports were present at the event, including the "Voice of the Eagles" himself Merrill Reese, who was signing his book "Sportscasting: Turning Your Passion Into a Profession." Other sportscasters/writers-turned-authors included: Jayson Stark of ESPN.com, Randy Miller of Bucks County Courier Times and Reuben Frank of Sportsradio 610 AM.
