If you plan on using the Pennsylvania Turnpike through Willow Grove this weekend, you may want to avoid nighttime travel. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has said that Easton Road will be closed and detoured between Fitzwatertown Road and West Mill Road in Upper Moreland on Saturday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday. Loftus Construction will be removing steel beams from the Turnpike mainline bridge located a half-mile south of the Willow Grove ramps. Traffic will not be permitted through the construction zone between Maryland Road and Wyandotte Road until Sunday morning. Only local traffic on Easton Road will be permitted through the detour. Transit bus hit convenience store at the intersection of Easton Road and Linden Avenue.
A transit bus ran into the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Easton Road and Linden Avenue sometime between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday night. "The big van just hit the wall and kept on rolling through," 7-Eleven employee Davis said. Nobody was injured in the crash, but the office inside the store suffered damage from the incident. Construction workers said they were on scene this morning and started the beginning stages of the repair. They have been working for close to five hours so far. The store is currently still open for business.

STATE ROUTE 611 (Easton Road): The overhead bridge and utility work zone is located between Maryland and Wyandotte Roads, approximately 500 feet south of the on/off ramps to the Willow Grove Interchange. Motorists are urged to obey posted speed limits and use extra caution when approaching all work areas. Loftus Construction Co., the general contractor working on the Turnpike's mainline bridge that crosses Rt. 611, will continue to periodically reduce traffic to a single-lane in either direction Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-3pm until the end of the month. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises that Easton Road (State Route 611) will be closed to traffic and detoured in both directions between Fitzwatertown Road and West Mill Road in Upper Moreland Township Saturday, November 3rd from 11:00pm until 5:00am Sunday, November 4th. The new restaurant on Easton Road opened for business on July 16.
More than 18 months in development, Miller’s Ale House opened its doors on July 16, 2012 and this new restaurant hopes complement the existing eateries along the bustling Route 611 corridor in Upper Moreland. The restaurant has occupancy of about 450, plus it boasts two full bars that add additional seating for patrons. There’s also a new dimension to this particular location of Miller’s Ale House, said Anthony Rovet, regional manager, as it features two community-type tables that have about 14 stools at each one in the bar area. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises that Easton Road (State Route 611) will be closed to traffic and detoured in both directions between Fitzwatertown Road and West Mill Road in Upper Moreland Township Saturday, July 14 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday morning. The detour is required to allow Loftus Construction to safely remove steel beams from the Turnpike mainline bridge located approximately one-half mile south of the ramps to the Willow Grove Interchange. Once the detour is implemented there will not be any vehicle or pedestrian traffic allowed through the construction zone, located between Maryland Road and Wyandotte Road, until the road is reopened Sunday morning, July 15.
