There will be single-lane traffic restrictions scheduled Wednesday through Friday on Rt. 611 in Upper Moreland Township. STATE ROUTE 611 (Easton Road): The overhead bridge and utility work zone is located between Maryland and Wyandotte Roads, approximately 500 feet south of the on/off ramps to the Willow Grove Interchange. Motorists are urged to obey posted speed limits and use extra caution when approaching all work areas. This update is provided by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission as a public service announcement. All construction related activities are dependent on the weather, accessibility and/or productivity and subject to change. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel through the area, or seek an alternate route …

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises that Easton Road (State Route 611) will be closed to traffic and detoured in both directions between Fitzwatertown Road and West Mill Road in Upper Moreland Township Saturday, July 14 from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday morning. The detour is required to allow Loftus Construction to safely remove steel beams from the Turnpike mainline bridge located approximately one-half mile south of the ramps to the Willow Grove Interchange. Once the detour is implemented there will not be any vehicle or pedestrian traffic allowed through the construction zone, located between Maryland Road and Wyandotte Road, until the road is reopened Sunday morning, July 15. More Turnpike roadwork is announced, this time involving lane closures on Route 611 from June 18- 22.
The Pennsylvania Turnpke has announced the folowing: Utility work may periodically impact travel where the PA Turnpike (I-276) crosses Easton Road. The contractor received a request from PECO Electric to schedule intermittent right lane closures southbound on Rt. 611 between the hours 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday – Friday (June 18-22) for utility relocation work between Maryland and Wyandotte Roads. The overhead bridge and work zone is located approximately one-half mile south of the on/off ramps to the Willow Grove Interchange. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes or allow extra time for travel through the area as delays may occasionally occur. I had heard that Easton Rd. will be closing down at some point around that bridge and traffic will be rerouted down Mill Rd. Anyone know when this happening and for how long? more ›
