Water Main Work Creates Traffic Woes on County Line

Traffic restrictions at County Line and York roads has caused a build up of traffic congestion at the busy intersection. The section is expected to be complete by next week.

Traveling along the County Line and York road intersection has its harrowing moments, but the past two weeks have been practically impossible for motorists. The ongoing project to replace seven miles of water main pipes made a stop at the intersection last week, forcing the stretch of road down to two lanes while crews prevented drivers from making left turns during late morning hours into the early afternoon. For example, if you are traveling westbound on County Line, and wanted to turn left on York, workers will stop you and direct you to keep driving on County Line. And the worst part besides this road being used by a huge amount of traffic is that where they "finished" they didn't put the asphalt back evenly and there are dips and valleys. It is SO dangerous. They should be ashamed. They didn't even attempt to make them even. What a mess!   more ›

Water Mains Being Replaced in Upper Moreland

Aqua has released the following letter to the township regarding future water main replacements in the township.

As part of Aqua Pa.’s continuing infrastructure improvement program, they will replace the water main on: Patterson Ave. between Beechwood Rd. & Sampson; Sampson Ave. between Patterson Ave. and the cul-de-sac; and Beechwood Road between Fitzwatertown Road and the sul-de-sac, in Upper Moreland Township, Montgomery County. The new main will increase service reliability and improve firefighting capabilities in the area.  Aqua will have an inspector on the job each day to answer any questions you might have.  The $365,000 project is scheduled to begin on October 8, 2012 and will involve the installation of 2,043 feet of 8-inch ductile iron main.  The new main will replace the existing 6-inch cast iron main.  We expect the main installation, …
