Montco Man Caught in $3.5 Million Meth Ring

“Operation Blowout” caught 27 suspects allegedly linked to a crystal methamphetamine ring that stretched from Mexico and Texas into Pennsylvania.

A four-year undercover investigation has resulted in the indictments of 27 people suspected of links to a crystal methamphetamine trafficking operation that stretched from Mexico and Texas and took root in Bucks, Montgomery, Berks, Lehigh and Tioga counties. Officials believe that the large network is responsible for the distribution of more than $3.5 million worth of crystal meth in southeastern and northern Pennsylvania, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. Evidence obtained through undercover drug buys, wiretaps and other court-authorized surveillance was presented to a grand jury in 2011, which came back in September 2012 with multiple criminal charges for each suspect. Major Suburban Meth Ring is Caught

A methamphetamine trafficking organization that worked in Pennsylvania through Bucks and Montgomery counties have been caught in "Operation Blowout."

A $3.5 million methamphetamine trafficking organization, which stretched from the Philadelphia suburbs – including Bucks and Montgomery counties – into the Lehigh Valley, has been stopped, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. “Operation Blowout,” a joint investigation, has identified 27 individuals allegedly linked to the ring that stretched from Mexico and Texas into Pennsylvania. Twelve Waive Charges to County Court in Meth Ring Case

A second preliminary hearing for the remaining suspects is set for May 24 before District Judge Andrea Duffy

At the District Court of Judge Andrea Duffy Wednesday morning, 12 of the 32 suspects arrested May 8 in connection with a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking ring waived all charges against them to a July 5 arraignment in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Jason Whalley said a preliminary hearing will be held May 24 at 10:45 a.m. for the remaining 20 suspects, including what he called the "big players": Francesco "Frank" Messina, Dave Penna and Jeff Penna.
